London Womens Forum Networking London
Les Matheson

On September 14, LWF members gathered at the Scottish Office in Whitehall for the networking event hosted by Mary Macleod, LWF Ambassador.

We were delighted to welcome our guest speaker, Les Matheson, Chief Executive Officer, Personal and Business Banking, Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).

Les has been a passionate champion of the diversity initiatives at RBS since joining the bank in 2014.   He held the room to a warm and excited crowd, sharing tips on career development, and discussing how embedding diversity and inclusion has been critical to changing culture across the financial services sector post the global financial crisis. In 2016, RBS pledged to get at least 30% female representation in its most senior roles across each of its business lines, exceeding the recommendations set out by the Davies review. Over the recent years, RBS has won a number of awards related to diversity.

LWF members also had the pleasure of meeting LWF Patron Eleanor Laing (MP and Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons).
