On 29th June, members of the LWF board attended the inaugural Women in Finance awards- Europe’s largest diversity-led event in the sector. LWF was a partner for the event,  board member Jane Karczewski was a judge and we were honoured that our new patron, Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons, Eleanor Laing was able to join us on the night- her first non parliamentary event post the general election.

As well as representing LWF, we are delighted to announce that our board member Emily Cox was awarded Woman of The Year.

For the flagship awards category of the night, the judges chose Emily Cox. Emily stood out as a game changer for all of her work on the Gadhia Report, and furthering the momentum of the Women in Finance Charter. Emily received multiple nominations from her colleagues at Virgin Money and committee member from Founders4Schools, a non-profit organisation that connects school students with inspiring entrepreneurs, placing diversity first.
