London Women’s Forum and the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Women in Parliament are delighted to invite you to the next Speaker series event.
It is our pleasure to announce that Sue Gray – Director General of the Propriety and Ethics team, Cabinet Office, will speak about the contribution that you can make to society by applying for a Public Appointment. Sue will discuss the range of appointments available and answer questions you may have around the application process
She will also be joined by a Public Appointee, Camilla Poulton, who will talk about her role. LWF members will also have an opportunity to network with MPs and our LWF Ambassador, Mary Macleod.
Camilla is the Chair of the Independent Monitoring Board at HMP Pentonville, a position which is publicly appointed by the Secretary of State for Justice. She is also a member of the IMB’s National Council Communications Working Group, whose aim is to raise the profile of the organisation amongst the public (including would-be volunteers), prisoners and prison staff. After reading law at Christ’s College Cambridge, she qualified as a solicitor, working at City law firms Clifford Chance and Slaughter and May. She has previously served as a Local Education Authority appointed secondary school governor and currently holds a number of other public sector board positions, including serving as a Lay Member on committees at the Royal College of Surgeons and as the only Lay Member of the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons’ Executive Committee.
