We are pleased to invite you to our inaugural “LWF Inspires” event. LWF Inspires is a new series of events featuring remarkable individuals who have overcome adversity, pursued their dreams, disrupted or made a difference in the world.
Our first speaker, Zahra Shaheer, was a renowned journalist in Afghanistan who escaped the Taliban takeover in 2021 with her children and found a new home and career in the UK. Hear her gripping story of courage, resilience and determination, as she shares her experience of life under the Taliban, starting again in a new country, and securing a role with the BBC while learning English from scratch.
